Deaf Latino  Program

NHLAD is proud to offer Deaf Latin Programs, a series of initiatives designed to empower, uplift, and connect the Deaf Latino community. These programs focus on education, cultural pride, linguistic diversity, and visibility, ensuring that Deaf Latinos have opportunities to share their stories, access resources, and build a stronger network.

Deaf Latin Spotlight highlights Deaf Latinos who are making an impact in their communities and beyond. Through interviews, social media features, and video stories, this program amplifies the voices of individuals excelling in areas such as leadership, activism, arts, education, and entrepreneurship. By celebrating these role models, Deaf Latin Spotlight inspires the next generation of Deaf Latinos to embrace their identity and pursue their passions. Meanwhile, Signs to Señas serves as a bridge between American Sign Language (ASL) and Spanish Sign Language (LSM), promoting bilingual and bicultural understanding. This initiative offers workshops, video lessons, and community collaborations to teach the similarities and differences between ASL and LSM, helping participants enhance their signing skills, build connections with Deaf communities across borders, and contribute to the preservation of linguistic heritage.

NHLAD is committed to fostering spaces where Deaf Latinos can thrive. Stay tuned for upcoming events and features. If you’re interested in participating, collaborating, or being featured, contact Info@nhlad.org. Together, we celebrate and strengthen the Deaf Latino experience!
